Congratulations to our Senior Kindergarten Students!
This week, we celebrate a very important milestone for our Senior Kindergarten students. They will graduate from a Play-based program to a more curriculum-based program as they graduate into Grade one. We are so excited to celebrate with you and cheer you on! Graduation will be held on Friday, June 23rd. We are so proud of our SK students and their many achievements, and we wish them continued success as they move on to grade one. May God keep you in the palm of his hand and bless you always!
National Indigenous Peoples Day
The month of June is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn about Indigenous history together. Specifically, June 21st, National Indigenous Peoples Day, is a moment for all Canadians to come together and celebrate with Indigenous Peoples. On June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day is a day to celebrate and recognize the contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit in Canada. The Canadian Constitution recognizes these three groups as Aboriginal peoples, also known as Indigenous peoples. Although these groups share many similarities, they each have their own distinct heritage, language, cultural practices, and spiritual beliefs. In cooperation with Indigenous organizations, the Government of Canada chose June 21, the summer solstice, for National Aboriginal Day, now known as National Indigenous Peoples Day. For generations, many Indigenous peoples and communities have celebrated their culture and heritage on or near this day due to the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year. We are proud of our rich Canadian Heritage and give thanks for the many contributions Indigenous Peoples have made to the fabric of our wonderful country!
Lost and Found & Medication Pick Up!
A few reminders for parents and students as we head into the last weeks of the school year. We have a number of Lost & Found items. Please ask your child to check to see if he/she owns anything displayed on the lost & found table. Any unclaimed items will be donated over the summer. If your child has any medication at the office, we ask that a guardian or your child come to the office to pick it up on their last day of school. Thank you!
Extended Day Registration for 2023-2024!
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is pleased to offer a fee based Extended Day Program for children from Kindergarten to grade 6. The program provides children with opportunities to expand their knowledge through a variety of activities. Children will be exposed to situations that will stimulate their curiosity, independence, and communication skills. The Extended Day Programs are delivered by teams of Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) who are members of the College of Early Childhood Educators. They are dedicated to providing faith based, quality, educational programming. All staff members have a deep and extensive knowledge of child development and the skills required to provide an enriched play-based educational program complementing the Kindergarten curriculum. Having an educator from the school day provides a seamless, consistent, and secure experience for both parents and children. The Extended Day Program offers parents a convenient school location, with equity of access in a safe and healthy environment for young children.
Registration will open on June 26 (previously planned for June 19) for the 2023-2024 School Year Extended Day Program. Please click on this link for more information: Extended Day Program 2023_24
