Message from the Principal
As we journey through the Lenten season we can take time to reflect on the sacrifices that Jesus made for us throughout his lifetime and the changes and sacrifices we are willing to make over the 40 days of Lent. Conversing with your child about what Lent means to you, beginning with the symbolism of the ashes is an excellent opportunity to continue developing that relationship grounded in faith.
On February 13th you received your child’s first term report card. Please ensure that any questions you may have or are thinking about are discussed with your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Take a look at the two reports issued so far and observe any patterns in your child’s work and progress. Are the same kinds of suggestions showing up this term as did on the progress report? Where are the areas of strength and the areas of need which still need to be addressed? Are there reasons that you and your child can determine for his/her good achievement?
Congratulations to the grade two students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Thursday,
February 27th. Our grade 2 students will continue to prepare for the sacrament of First Holy Communion on Sunday, April 25th. Thank you to Ms. Maloney, Ms. Cabral and Father Malcolm as the continue to work in partnership to prepare our grade two students through this next important sacrament.
Congratulations to our Boys Basketball team who are heading to playoffs. They came second place in their division and will now continue on to play for bronze, silver or gold place.
Congratulation also to our St. Augustine Girls Volleyball team. They finished first in their division and will also go on to playoffs for the bronze, silver or gold finish.
Have a safe and happy March Break!
Ms. Angela Carroll
Through our observance of Lent, help us to understand the meaning of Your Son’s death and resurrection, and teach us to reflect it in our lives. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, You Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit.
Fast from greed, feast on sharing.
Fast from telling lies, feast on telling the truth.
Fast from hating, feast on loving.
Fast from teasing, feast on kind words.
Have a BLESSED LENTEN SEASON
