Message from the Principal
As we journey through the Lenten season we can take time to reflect on sacrifices that Jesus made for us throughout his lifetime and the changes/sacrifices that we are willing to make over the 40 days of Lent. Conversing with your child about what Lent means to you, beginning with the symbolism of the ashes is an excellent opportunity to continue developing that relationship grounded in faith.
On February 15th you received your child’s first term report card. Please ensure that any questions you may have or are thinking about are discussed with your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Take a look at the two reports issued so far and observe any patterns in your child’s work and progress. Are the same kinds of suggestions showing up this term as did on the progress report? Where are the areas of strength, areas of need that still need to be addressed? Are there reasons that you and your child can determine for his/her good achievement?
Congratulations to the grade two students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday Feb. 28th. Our grade 2 students will continue to prepare for the sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday April 28th. Please keep our grade seven students in your prayers as they continue to prepare to receive Confirmation on Wednesday May 23rd. We continue to work in partnership with Father Malcolm at St. Gregory Church.
Congratulations to the girls’ volleyball team on a successful conclusion to their season. Thank you to Mrs. Ritz and for coaching the girls. As well, thank you to Mrs. Hawryszko and Mrs. Bradnam for coaching the boys’ basketball team. The boys are to be congratulated for working well as a team and displaying great sportsmanship. Way to go Storm Athletes!
Have a safe and happy March Break!

March is Nutrition Month!
This year, the focus of the Dietitians of Canada’s National Nutrition Month campaign is “Unlock the Potential of Food.”
Throughout the month of March, Registered Dietitians across Canada will help people discover the potential of food to enhance lives, improve health, inspire children, fuel activities and bring people together!
Participate in Nutrition Month by unlocking the:
- Potential to fuel: Help your child stay energized by preparing nutritious snacks each day.
- Potential to discover: Foster healthy eating habits in your child by including them in meal and snack planning and teaching them to shop and cook.
- Potential to prevent: Help your child understand how food can help to keep their body and mind healthy.
- Potential to bring us together: Cook and eat together as a family as much as possible.
Try making this easy recipe with your child to “Unlock the Potential of Food” together.
